Genoa propose swap deal for Roma’s Baptista

Roma’s out-of-favour forward Julio Baptista has again been attracting interest, as Genoa have reportedly made an offer to swap him for Giuseppe Sculli.
Baptista, 29, has had very little first-team football this season under Claudio Ranieri and has grown tired of his role on the bench.
Ranieri allegedly wanted to sign Genoa’s Sculli last summer to bolster his attack but wasn’t able to reach a deal, but now it seems he could finally land his man.
Davide Ballardini has recently taken over as coach of Genoa and will want to bring in his own players in January, despite the club’s significant investments last summer.
Baptista fits the bill for Ballardini, and he is willing to lose Sculli, 29, in order to sign the Brazilian. Genoa have reportedly offered another swap deal, whereby they would sign Palermo’s Massimo Maccarone in exchange for Raffaele Palladino, but it has been rejected by the Sicilians.
The deal proposed to Roma is much more likely to be accepted because Ranieri wants rid of Baptista and clearly rates Sculli higher. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
