Genoa sign Wigan striker

Mauro Boselli has temporarily ended his Premier League nightmare with Wigan Athletic and has joined Genoa on loan for the rest of the season.
The Argentine striker was signed by Roberto Martinez’s club last summer for £6 million from Estudiantes in his homeland, where he was one of the most prolific goalscorers on the continent.
However, Boselli has struggled with the pace of English football and still hasn’t scored a league goal, so Wigan have agreed to loan him out.
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi said: “I like Boselli. He is our objective. We are talking about an interesting player also in terms of his prospects.
“He has played with Rodrigo Palacio. They know each other well. We will try and take the best chance available to us. We want to dismantle the old house and rebuild another that can give our fans’ satisfaction.”

Boselli will replace Luca Toni, who has joined Juventus, in Genoa’s attack but the club have failed to sign a second Argentinean. Mauro Formica, of Newell’s Old Boys, was on the verge of completing a move to Marassi but it has now collapsed.
Formica’s agent confirmed: “Everything had been arranged and was all perfect. Genoa were going to pay to Newell’s €3.5 million.
“In addition Mauro had left the pre-season work because everything was ready for him signing the contract and travel to Italy but during Tuesday afternoon they changed all the conditions and we didn’t accept them.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
