Emanuele Giaccherini has told SportItalia he is aiming as high as possible in his career and would move should an important offer came his way.
The creative forward was a standout for Cesena in his debut Serie A season, which has led to transfer links with a number of clubs.
“For now everything is still, but for a player I believe it is normal to have important ambitions. I am happy to be at Cesena, but when an important call I value arrives, I do not want to refuse it,” Giaccherini claimed.
“I spoke with my agent today and there are many interested, including important squads, but so far no offers. However, I am not excluding that I remain at Cesena.”
Giaccherini wants to ensure that even with rumours surrounding his future, he wants to remain humble:
“It is always nice to be approached by Roma or Napoli, that is obvious, but I prefer to keep my feet on the ground. I know where I have come from and that is why I do not want to have any delusions. Inter? That would be a dream.”
The 26-year-old finished by stating he and new signing Adrian Mutu would be compatible in the same line-up:
“It is absolutely not true that we cannot play together. Adrian is a great player; his characteristics are different to mine. He gives a lot of quality to the squad.”
Cesena were the surprise package of Serie A last season as they managed to not only stave off relegation but also delight fans with their unique attacking football.
