Gilardino in new Juventus link

After no goals scored in their past three matches, Juventus has once again been linked in the Gazzetta dello Sport to a revolution in attack headlined by a move for Alberto Gilardino.
2011 has not been kind to the Old Lady and the tone was set in early January with a serious injury to leading goalscorer Fabio Quagliarella. His knee reconstruction meant he will not add to his nine strikes this season. Alessandro Matri and Luca Toni were new additions to the squad during the transfer window and after bright starts the duo have suffered as the team has created few opportunities during this barren spell.
Fiorentina hit-man Gilardino is their top marksman with nine goals to his name from 26 appearances, in a frustrating season for the club. The pink daily notes Juve will offer the much maligned Amauri in a deal to move Gilardino to Turin.
Should a deal not be reached then the Bianconeri may go on the assault for Catania’s Maxi Lopez, who was linked in January.
The club has much to ponder for next season as Quagliarella and Matri have deals in place for a permanent contract should Juventus want to take up the option. Meanwhile there are doubts over the ability of Vincenzo Iaquinta going into the future as he has had a long run with injury.
The newspaper has also linked the two-time European Champions with midfield recruits in Milan’s Andrea Pirlo and Javier Mascherano of Barcelona. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
