Giuseppe Giannini axed from Verona hot seat

Former Roma legend Giuseppe Giannini has been sacked from Serie C1 side Verona the Corriere Dello Sport reports.
Sunday afternoon’s defeat away to Salernitana was the final act of a turbulent few months in charge of the fallen giants. After the 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Arechi in Salerno club president Giovanni Martinelli was furious and told awaiting reporters that the situation at the club was: “bad, very bad”.
Giannini has always maintained that one day he would love to return to the capital to take charge of the club that he graced with such distinction throughout the 80’s and 90’s. After guiding Gallipoli to Serie B a couple of years ago Il Principe looked set for a glittering coaching career. He leaves the Gialloblu marooned in mid table of Italy’s third tier.
