Gremio claim Ronaldinho talks

Gremio have become the latest club from Brazil to have claimed that they are in negotiations to sign Milan’s out-of-favour playmaker Ronaldinho.
The 30-year-old former Barcelona player started his career with Gremio in 1998, before forging a career in Europe. But now Ronaldinho has found himself on the bench at Milan, and is seemingly surplus to requirements.
With his contract expiring in the summer, he has reportedly opened negotiations with several clubs in his homeland, and Gremio claim that they have agreed to bring the Brazilian back home.
The club’s president Paulo Odone said: “Ronaldinho feels that he owes our club something. He told us he wants to return to Gremio and end his career where it started. There are conversations going on and a very good chance that the move will go through.”
The impending transfer of Antonio Cassano to Milan is another factor that could spell the end for Ronaldinho. His playing time will presumably be even less after the arrival of another forward, and although Milan have denied rumours about his departure, there has still been no mention of a new contract for the Brazilian.
