Guidolin wants Udinese to put Lecce performance behind them

Udinese Coach Francesco Guidolin was disappointed with the result in Lecce, but is confident this is just a blip on the radar. The tactician is hoping the 2-0 defeat will bring his players back down to earth after a fantastic run since the winter break, where the Zebrette were unbeaten in 13 matches.
He told the international break took its toll on the players away with the national team, but insisted Lecce were deserving of the win.
“Udinese can do more and better than what they showed in Lecce. It was not our day, De Canio’s boys deserved the victory with a powerful performance, they ran and they were watchful. We paid for the championship break, which took several players away from the team, capped by their national teams to play two matches in a few days. We’re back down to earth, we were not phenomenal before and we know how to re-become what we used to be. Also bigger teams than us have lost in Lecce. Our opponents were more powerful, more competitive, it made the difference”.
Napoli’s win against Lazio ensures Udinese remain fourth with seven matches left to play this season. Guidolin says it will be back to the drawing board and the players just have to keep working hard: “The whole team showed an undertone performance. We have to roll up our sleeves and go back to work, today’s match must be just one episode”.
While the loss was a blow to their outside Scudetto chance, it does not end their Champions League aspirations, according to the Coach: “Our European dream continues, it does not stop in Lecce. We’re up for Champions League and for Europe, we want to defend the position we have achieved and, if possible, make it better”. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
