Hamsik plays down Milan rumours

Marek Hamsik has committed his future to Napoli amidst rumours he is set for a move to Milan.
The Slovakian midfielder celebrated qualification to the Champions League on Sunday following a 1-1 home draw with Inter and has moved to distance himself from a move away from San Paulo.
Speaking to Napoli’s official website sscnapoli.it Hamsik said:
“We finally got the point that we needed to get into the Champions League. For me it was an incredible feeling when, at the time of replacement, the entire St Paulo shouted my name.”
With many suitors around Europe chasing the 23-year-old playmaker, the Naples faithful fully understand how significant their vocal appreciation could be in the future of their rising star.
Hamsik’s agent, Juraj Venglos spoke also of his client’s desire to stay with the Azzurri next season. He said: “The rumours about Milan? I do not answer. Marek is happy to play in Europe with this shirt.”
Hamsik’s decision could also be influenced by president Aurelio De Laurentiis, with uncertainties concerning some of the key players like Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
The biggest doubt however is Coach Walter Mazzarri, who is yet to dismiss speculation linking him with a move to Juventus. Napoli face Juventus in Turin on the final day of the season.
