Ibrahimovic: “Milan are not afraid of Inter”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said that leaders Milan are not worried by Inter’s resurgent form and he expects the team to continue to lead the table. The Swedish ace also praised his new strike partner Antonio Cassano in an interview with Forza Milan magazine.
Ibra’s Milan has slipped up in the past few games managing just one win in their three games of the New Year but the Rossoneri top scorer feels the team has regained confidence after their 3-0 win over Bari in the Coppa Italia last night.
“I’m sure Inter will continue to play with confidence after their recent games, but we must be focused only on ourselves. We are not worried about the other teams, or what they do. If we continue to do our job well, we continue to be in the lead.”
Ibrahimovic who joined Milan after a turbulent season at Barcelona, mentioned that he felt comfortable with his team-mates and uncharacteristically talked about the group’s ambitions as compared to his individual ones.
“Here I am doing well. For me it is more important to win with this team than pick up a Ballon d’Or. The Italian league is more tactically and physically challenging. It is easy to be a forward in Spain by comparison.”
Antonio Cassano became the newest member of Milan and Ibra has welcomed his impact on the team which has seen the Italian contribute three assists in as many games for the Rossoneri.
“I feel good alongside Cassano. With great players like him, the understanding is almost automatic. It is easy to play with him as he has an incredible vision of the game. There is nothing better than being served a ball to put you through.”
There had been previous calls by Ibrahimovic for his former Inter team-mate Mario Balotelli to join him at the Rossoneri, but the Swede believes that now the Rossoneri are overloaded in the attacking department.
“There is no place for Balotelli. Milan have Ibrahimovic, Cassano, Robinho, Pato and Inzaghi who is injured. How many strikers are there like, six? You can’t play with the four or six strikers, can you?”
