Ilicic happy at Palermo

Josip Ilicic has moved to quash rumours linking him with a move away from Palermo during the summer transfer window.
The Slovenian international has enjoyed an excellent first season in Serie A since his 2010 switch from Maribor.
Such form led to the player’s agent Amir Ruznic revealing in February that clubs in the Premier League were ‘going crazy’ for the 23-year-old, with Chelsea in particular thought to be very keen.
Ilicic, however, has been quick to dismiss any speculation regarding his future, setting his sights instead on ending the season strongly with Palermo.
“I have a four-year contract and I am happy at Palermo,” he explained to reporters. “I don’t know if there are other teams following me and I am not even planning to discuss my contract again.
“I am not thinking about it because my job is on the pitch and in training. The contract is up to my agent and (Palermo owner) Maurizio Zamparini.”

The midfielder failed to make the Slovenia squad for last year’s World Cup in South Africa, eventually making his debut in August 2010 against Australia. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
