Inter out of Cassano race?

On the day that the decision regarding Antonio Cassano’s future is expected to be announced, Inter have surprisingly denied that want to sign the controversial Sampdoria striker.
Inter were favourites to be Cassano’s next club if Sampdoria are granted permission to terminate his contract. But Cassano could now find himself in limbo after Inter withdrew themselves from any speculation linking them with an offer.
Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti said: “Cassano? He is a good player and great guy but at the moment this doesn’t stand up. We are not looking at players from the market.”
Several other Serie A clubs including Juventus, Fiorentina, Palermo and Parma have already pulled out of the race to sign up the 28-year-old, leaving Milan as favourites for his signature.
The Rossoneri haven’t ever denied their interest in Cassano and could be in pole position to offer him a deal if his Sampdoria contract is ripped up later today.
However, should the arbitration panel rule that his contract cannot be terminated, Milan may struggle to fund a deal for Cassano, who will consequently be sold. Whilst Sampdoria wouldn’t price any buyers out of a deal, there is a clause with Cassano’s former club Real Madrid that entitles them to €5 million if he moves clubs.
Milan, who already signed big-money strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho last summer, may struggle to pay that fee to Real on top of Cassano’s wages. Any deal may depend on the future of fellow high earner, Ronaldinho, who could leave Milan in January and therefore free up some funds. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
