Inter set to sack Benitez

La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Massimo Moratti has decided to sack Rafael Benitez only two days after lifting the FIFA Club World Cup.
The paper ran with the headline of “Benitez e’ fuori!” which translates as “Benitez is out!” The Spaniard has struggled to produce results this season and the Nerazzurri lie 13 points off the top of the table, a situation made worse as top spot is occupied by fierce city rivals Milan.
Although Benitez had just delivered the FIFA Club World Cup with a 3-0 win against TP Mazembe in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, any thoughts of this being his saving grace were dashed after an untimely outburst.
The Inter coach gave his President three options via the press, the first to give him money in January and back him, the second to carry on as normal without strengthening and the third was to sack him.
Massimo Moratti responded by saying that “They were a bit out of place, perhaps, but they haven’t spoiled anything for now: at the moment anyone who loves Inter is happy. I’m not going to talk about Benitez now.”
It seems however his mind had already been made up and these comments have actually made the Presidents job easier as there had already been suggestions he would be sacked.
La Gazzetta has made Luciano Spalletti the front runner to replace him although Fabio Capello, former Milan coach Leonardo and Walter Zenga have also been linked with the position. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
