Inter still evaluating Coaching options

Inter’s search for a new Coach following the sudden departure of Leonardo is still underway, club officials have confirmed and stated that a decision is likely to be announced in the upcoming days.
The Nerazzurri were left in a precarious position after Brazilian Leonardo decided to quit his seat on the bench for the role of Director General at PSG. Since, then Inter have been unsuccessful in finding a replacement.
First, Marcelo Biesla, the former Argentina and Chile Coach, refused the job due to personal reasons and yesterday Sinisa Mijhalovic, the Fiorentina manager who was Assistant Coach at Inter under Roberto Mancini, ruled himself out too.
Mijhalovic released a statement confirming his intention to stay with the Viola after signing for them last summer: “Last season, Fiorentina chose me and I chose Fiorentina, despite having other work offers.”
“I am happy with my decision and it has allowed me to work with with a club made up of highly professional, ambitious and competent people. I hope to stay at Fiorentina, for many years to come.”
With this latest rejection, Inter’s search is now down to three candidates namely Gianpiero Gasperini, former Genoa Coach, Delio Rossi who led Palermo to the Coppa Italia finals, but their chief target is Porto’s Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese led the Dragao to a treble this season and he knows the Nerazzurri environment having worked as Jose Mourinho’s assistant during the Special One’s first season in charge.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that transfer chief Marco Branca flew out last night to Oporto to negotiate a release for Villas-Boas which is likely to cost the club upto €15 million.
Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo however, stated that the club was not worried by their search for a new manager and also denied that the club was caught off-guard by Leonardo’s decision to quit.
“An announcement will be made when the time is right, and that doesn’t mean we are tense, worried or confused. We are calmly dealing with an important decision that we will take shortly.
“A well-run club like Inter is never unprepared; there are always contingency plans in place that of course are not made public. Inter and Leonardo maintain a good relationship.”

Many of Inter’s top names have been linked with a move away from the club and chief among those have been Wesley Sneijder and Samuel Eto’o. Paolillo said that the club will be considering all the offers received.
“It all depends on the type of offer we receive and whether the player can be replaced. Anything or nothing may happen.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
