Inter suffer double injury blow

Rafael Benitez has been given a major headache ahead of next weekend’s trip to Cagliari with injuries to two of his biggest stars. Both midfielder Esteban Cambiasso and striker Diego Milito had to leave the field in Argentina’s 1-0 defeat in Japan. Corriere Dello Sport reports that Cambiasso picked up a muscle injury during the first-half, collapsing to the ground in pain, whilst Milito seems to have had a reoccurrence of the thigh injury he sustained during his team’s defeat against Roma.
It is believed that the Nerazzurri medical team have been notified and now it seems to be a race against time to get both men fit for the trip to Sardinia next weekend. There is some good news for the Serpentini with club captain Javier Zanetti looking set to return to first team action after almost a month on the sidelines after collapsing in the dressing room at the end of the match against Palermo on September 19.
