Inter’s Eto’o favourite for African award

Corriere dello Sport understands that Inter’s Samuel Eto’o is the favourite to win the upcoming African Footballer of the Year awards.
The Cameroon striker, 29, caught the eye on the right wing as Inter won the Treble last season. This term he has rediscovered his centre-forward position and has been in deadly form, leading many to believe he will be credited with the award.
Milan’s Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is the only other Serie A representative on the shortlist. Also nominated are Ivory Coast duo Dider Drogba and Salomon Kalou, two more Ghana players in Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew, Egyptian pair Mohamed Nagy and Ahmed Hassan, Mali’s Seydou Keita and Algeria’s Majid Bougherra.
Eto’o has previously won the award in 2003, 2004 and 2005, as well as coming second in 2001, 2006 and last year. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
