Italian authorities prevent Tottenham fans from displaying the Star of David

Ahead of next week’s Champions League clash at the San Siro between Inter and Spurs, the Italian authorities have prevented any visiting supporter from displaying the Star of David at the stadium.
The Corriere dello Sport understands that notices will be displayed in and around the stadium area advising travelling fans from England. Spurs have a large Jewish following and the authorities are concerned about the fact that Inter supporters have been the perpetrators of Anti-Semitic behaviour in the past, most notably against Ajax, and the security forces do not want a repeat of any incidents next Wednesday.
Vittorio Pavoncello, president of Jewish sports federation Maccabi Italia was outraged about the decision explaining that: “the Star of David is a symbol of Tottenham Hotspur and to prevent its supporters from displaying it is an absolute insult”. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
