Italy’s U21’s beat Sweden’s U21’s

Italy beat Sweden 3-1 in last nights U21 match in Reggio Emilia. Manger Ciro Ferrara’s has now won three matches in a row with his youngsters.
The former Juventus boss had already beaten England and Turkey in the build up to this match and his team were certainly full of confidence.
The Azzurrini took the lead through Empoli’s Diego Fabbrini before Genoa starlet Alberto Paloschi doubled the home sides advantage.
The third goal also went Italy’s way as Sampdoria’s Federico Macheda who is on loan from Manchester United. Sweden did get a consolation goal through Larsson but this was too little too late.
After the game Ciro Ferrara spoke to Rai: “The boys gave a great performance. It was not easy but we won deservedly. We controlled the ball well and could have even scored more.
“I have to congratulate my players. Now we must rest and then think about the game against Germany on Tuesday”

The news that the U21’s are being successful will come as welcome news to Italians as the main national squad has come under criticism before it has even played.
Cesare Prandelli has been accused that the squad selection he has made has created a ‘Serie B national team’ for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia which takes place today. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
