Javier Pastore wants to remain at Palermo

It will be music to the ears of Palermo fans as Javier Pastore has distanced himself from a vast amount of transfer speculation – insisting he wants to remain in Sicily for at least two more years.
The Argentine has been in scintillating form thus far for the Rosanero accompanied with an influential display against Juventus where he opened the scoring during their inspired 3-1 victory. This lead to a glowing appraisal from club owner Maurizio Zamparini who has labelled his young star as “the new Zidane”.
He has certainly come back from the World Cup as a more complete and agile figure with all his technical attributes seemingly growing stronger.
Speaking on Radio Deejay, the 21-year old said he’s happy and the World Cup experience has developed him as a player.
“I’m happy how things are going this season. We hope to continue like this to the end. I feel good and I’m happy. I grew up long after the World Cup. I’m back from the experience of South Africa with more serenity and more belief in my ability.”
The wonder-kid then echoed the words that all fans of Palermo wanted to hear – “I want to stay”. His displays of late have alerted Europe’s elite, most notably Real Madrid who enquired about his availability during the summer. The young Argentine insists he has a lot more to give and wants to develop his game even further with the Serie A club.
“I want to stay in Palermo for two years. I have yet to grow fully ( as a player) and I am very happy for the time being.”
