Juve dismiss Vidal penalty claim

Juventus have dismissed claims made in an online video there was collusion between Arturo Vidal and Cesena’s Guillermo Rodriguez regarding a penalty scored.
Vidal scored from the spot in the match between the two sides in December and the video alleges Rodriguez motioned with his head which direction he would move.
However, a statement on the clubs official website has noted the footage is a “clumsy and underhand attempt at defamation.”
The statement reads: “The recent circulation of footage concerning the penalty struck and scored by Arturo Vidal in the Juventus v Cesena encounter, which according to some reveals a gesture of agreement between the Cesena player tasked with stopping the penalty and the Bianconeri midfielder, constitutes a clumsy and underhand attempt at defamation.
“Juventus Football Club will act accordingly in order to protect the image of both the club and Arturo Vidal.”
The footage and theory surrounding it comes shortly after a similar video was released indicating Morgan De Sanctis’ possible anger at a Napoli goal against Lecce, which the goalkeeper vehemently disagrees with.
