Juve: Pastore too expensive

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has conceded that a summer move for Palermo ace Javier Pastore is unlikely because the player would cost too much.
Pastore has been mooted as a signing for either Barcelona or Real Madrid at some point in the future, but recently the Bianconeri have also emerged as potential suitors.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini claimed today that the Argentine is worth €70 million in light of the renewed interest in him. Earlier this season, Pastore signed a new contract with the Sicilian club that reportedly had a release clause of €50m, but now Zamparini is demanding even more.
Marotta believes the asking price could rule Juve out of the race: “We have a great relationship with Zamparini, but we have never spoken about Pastore. He is a great talent scout, but also Pastore is a very expensive purchase.”
The 21-year-old is not thought to be in any rush to leave Palermo. After signing his extended deal this season, he has repeatedly outlined his happiness with the club. He recently stated that he would prefer to play regularly for Palermo than be a substitute at either Barcelona or Real.
