Juve watching Villareal duo

La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Juventus sent scouts to last night’s Europa League match between Napoli and Villareal to watch two of the visitors’ players.
Fabio Paratici, assistant to Juve’s general manager Beppe Marotta, was in the stands observing Italy international Giuseppe Rossi and Spanish midfielder Bruno Soriano, both of whom played for Villareal in the 0-0 draw.
Rossi has been a long-term target for the Bianconeri, but Villareal are not keen to sell their star player. Their resolve was tested by Tottenham in the January transfer window, who had a bid of £35 million rejected for Rossi.
However, Juve remain keen on the 24-year-old and would like to make their move for him next summer, although whether they can afford a massive bid in excess of Tottenham’s offer is doubtful.
Soriano, 26, is a more realistic target for the Turin giants. The defensive midfielder has been earmarked as a recruit in the summer if the likes of Alberto Aquilani and Mohamed Sissoko leave the club.
Villareal rate Soriano highly, too, and their asking price for the one-time Spain international would be approximately €15m.
