Juventus explain Diego sale

Corriere dello Sport has reported that Juventus have explained the reasons why they sold Diego in the summer.
Diego only spent a single season in Turin after being purchased for approximately 25 million Euros from Werder Bremen, but never fulfilled his potential, and became a scapegoat for the club’s underachievement.
The 25-year-old Brazilian was sold to Wolfsburg this summer, for approximately 10 million Euros less than Juve paid for him 12 months earlier. The Bianconeri’s general manager Jean-Claude Blanc has now spoken out about why the decision to offload the midfielder was taken.
“Diego would’ve had difficulty settling into Gigi Del Neri’s tactical system,” explained Blanc. “We preferred to sell him in order to reach another player of his level, like Milos Krasic.”
Krasic, 25, was signed in the summer for the same fee that Juve received for Diego, but as an out-and-out winger, is more adapted to Del Neri’s 4-4-2 formation.
