Juventus in late bid for Drenthe

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Juventus are hoping to tie up a deadline day transfer for Real Madrid’s Royston Drenthe.
Juve have been in the market throughout January for a left-sided player but their efforts have yielded no rewards as yet.
Drenthe has always been mooted as the solution to Juve’s problem and a deal could be closed before the 11pm transfer deadline.
The Dutchman has spent this season on loan with Spanish minnows Hercules but has been on strike after a failure to pay his wages.
As a result, Juve are hoping to convince Real to recall him from Hercules, and send him on loan to Turin.
The Bianconeri would also be keen on including an option to buy Drenthe, which would suit Real as they see no future for the 23-year-old at the Bernabeu.
