Juventus laugh off Milan’s Del Piero interest

Corriere dello Sport has reported how Juventus have no intention of letting their club legend Alessandro Del Piero leave, amid alleged interest from Milan.
Del Piero’s contract expires in the summer, and Juve haven’t yet extended it, leading to rumours he may be released. And last weekend when Juve beat Milan at the San Siro, the Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi publicly asked Del Piero to sign for his club if he becomes a free agent.
However, Juve’s sporting director Beppe Marotta has rubbished Berlusconi’s remarks, saying: “Del Piero to Milan? I don’t think so. The fact that Berlusconi rates him so much is a testament to the player, but Del Piero won’t play in a Milan shirt.
“His agent has said that Alex is and will be a Juventus player. There will soon be a meeting around the table with president Andrea Agnelli. The new stadium will be ready next season and if Del Piero wishes to play there then there will be no problems.”

The 36-year-old striker, who recently became the Bianconeri’s all-time Serie A top goalscorer, has previously stated that he won’t play for another Italian club if Juve release him.
