Juventus running out of time for Dzeko

Juventus have to submit a big-money bid in the next two days if they still want to sign Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko, as the player is in talks to join Manchester City.
Dzeko has always been Juve’s prime transfer target, and the Bosnian allegedly would favour a move to Serie A rather than the Premier League.
However, Italian league rules stipulate that Juventus can only sign one non-EU player each season, and they already have Milos Krasic.
The Bianconeri are therefore in a race against time to tie up a deal with Wolfsburg for Dzeko to move to Italy at the end of the current season.
An agreement is unlikely at this stage, though, because oil-rich City have already had a bid accepted by the German club.
Dzeko is currently discussing personal terms with City, and the fee for his signature is reportedly £27 million. Juventus would struggle to compete on a financial level with City, but are hoping that the 24-year-old striker’s preference is to move to Italy.
Wolfsburg manager Steve McLaren has already given the green light for City to complete Dzeko’s transfer in the next few days, so it is expected that Juventus will be helpless to watch their number one target slip away.
