Juventus still like Dzeko, but not Benzema or Maxi Lopez

Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta has reaffirmed his admiration for Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko, but has ruled out a move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema or Catania’s Maxi Lopez.
Bosnian striker Dzeko has been linked with Juve for approximately a year, until reports emerged recently that he would cost in the region of €60 million, which isn’t affordable for the Bianconeri. However, Marotta has insisted that Dzeko is a preferable option to either Benzema or Lopez, who are reportedly cheaper and more realistic transfer targets.
Marotta told Tuttosport: “Out of Dzeko and Benzema, I would choose Dzeko. As for Maxi Lopez, he is not part of our plans. The January market? It is an opportunity welcomed by all teams.
“Perhaps there are some elements that could improve our team, but we will not make important investments. I am of the idea that is that window there are no great players on which to go on.”
