Juventus want German defender Tasci

Juventus want to sign Stuttgart centre-back Serdar Tasci in January to bolster their defence, reports Tuttosport.
The Bianconeri are happy with Italian international duo Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in that position, but alternatives are worryingly sparse. Juve sporting director Beppe Marotta has therefore identified Germany defender Tasci as an ideal recruit.
Marotta tried to bring him to Turin this summer, but Stuttgart refused to sell. His agent said at the time: “Serdar would like to go to Juve a lot, but Stuttgart won’t let him leave. We have spoken a lot with the directors, but the position has remained the same. For the moment there isn’t any hope, we will see in the next transfer window.”
The 23-year-old Turkish-born Tasci has represented Germany 13 times, and was part of their World Cup squad. Juventus hope he will replace Nicola Legrottaglie, who is in the final year of his contract, and by no means a first-choice. Leandro Rinaudo’s injury is another reason Juve are keen to strengthen with Tasci.
