Juventus want Pirlo for free

Corriere dello Sport are claiming that Andrea Pirlo could allow his Milan contract to run out and subsequently sign for Juventus in the summer on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old playmaker will be one of Europe’s most valuable free agents at the end of the season and it is looking increasingly unlikely that he will agree fresh terms with Milan before then.
Many clubs would therefore be interested in signing Pirlo, who could join the club of his choice on a Bosman transfer from the start of July.
Juve seem most likely to offer Pirlo a future, but any potential transfer depends upon the club’s finances.
Director general Beppe Marotta, who oversaw the significant overhaul of Juve’s squad last summer, is expected to decide whether to invest in several new players or to offer Pirlo a lucrative contract instead.
The Italy international’s future at the Rossoneri is in doubt because the club want to reduce their wage bill and Pirlo is one of their top earners. Unless a new contract on a lower wage can be agreed, Pirlo is expected to move on.
Juve see Pirlo as the ideal signing to add some creativity to their otherwise workmanlike midfield. The likes of Claudio Marchisio and Felipe Melo have played in central midfield this season but the addition of Pirlo to this duo would add the guile that Juve have lacked at times this campaign.
