Juve’s Striker Hunt

It is hardly a secret that Serie A champions, Juventus, are desperate to sign a striker this summer – the presence of Nicklas Bendtner in a black and white shirt last season shows how much the barrel was scraped.

Stefan Jovetic

The arrival of Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao on a free transfer is certainly a coup, but boss, Antonio Conte, knows that he will need to be paired with an equally talented striker if they are to transfer their domestic dominance onto the Champions League stage next season.
But who are the contenders? Well, a number of names have been mentioned online at betfair, with three players that stand out:
Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentine striker is almost certain to leave Real Madrid this summer after six years at the Bernabeu.
The powerful forward struck 18 goals in all competitions for the Spanish giants last season and has an overall record of 62 goals in 145 appearances. The stumbling block could be the swift movement of Arsenal, who have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £22million for the 25-year-old.
Carlos Tevez
In the autumn of 2011, it seemed impossible to imagine that Carlos Tevez would wear a Manchester City shirt again following his very public bust-up with boss, Roberto Mancini.
The Argentina international was ostracized for several months before returning to help the club win the Premier League title. He remained a regular last season but has up till now shown little desire to sign a new contract.
He enters the final year of his deal next season and, although petro-dollar fuelled City do not need the money, they may seek to cash in this summer to avoid losing him on a free next season.
Stefan Jovetic
The chase is well and truly on for Montenegro international, Jovetic, after he revealed the time was right to leave Fiorentina.
His five years with La Viola demonstrated that he was capable of handling life in Serie A and so he would settle quickly at Juventus. The 24-year-old looks the most likely target because of that reason, but Juve would again have to move fast as Arsenal and Roma have both been sniffing around, with the latter reportedly lodging a €20million player-plus-cash deal.
