Lazio were lucky to draw with Siena last weekend and their fans will demand they play for all three points. The Biancocelesti are currently in 15th place, and after their draw last week, they will feel a responsibility to their fans to try and beat Milan. This will be a fixture of high emotions and entertainment. It is most definitely good times for The Rossoneri, after beating Parma by two goals. Some may even say they have finally woken up. Nelson Dida was working hard to try and dispose of the memories of his European howlers. He made sure this time to be remembered for the right reason by producing some wonderful saves. Thanks to this win Milan are now in fourth place and even though they might be too late to put in a challenge for lo Scudetto, they can at least try to minimise Inter’s lead.
Lazio – Currently languishing in the bottom half of the table and just three points behind city rivals Roma, Lazio’s Serie A record consists of just two wins – a sign of a team in trouble. In the past 10 league games against the Rossoneri, they have yet to beat them, with four draws and six defeats to their name. Milan having just come of a win against Parma and a draw against Real Madrid in the Champions league will be a daunting prospect for the Biancocelesti, but one they are more than capable of handling.
2 Lichtsteiner – 13 Siviglia – 26 Radu – 11 Kolarov
32 Brocchi – 33 Baronio – 5 Mauri
10 Zárate – 9 Rocchi
Milan – Last weekend saw the Rossoneri grab a vital three points, which now sees then in fourth position behind Sampdoria and two points behind Juventus perhaps with slender hopes of a title challenge coming to light. Il Diavolo will fight to remain near the top of the table and they will want to restore the faith to the Rossoneri tifosi and continue this trend of winning. Marco Borriello was the hero of last weekend’s game, and proved even though his name is not as well known as Ronaldinho, he has the same quality. He bagged a brace which certainly helped boost the morale for the Rossoneri. Both goals were made possible by the tireless runs, hard work and unselfish play of Ronaldinho. This showed great team spirit and determination by the Rossoneri. Alessandro Nesta could return in the centre of defence to face his former side.
44 Oddo – 4 Kaladze – 33 Thiago Silva – 15 Zambrotta
8 Gattuso – 21 Pirlo
7 Pato – 10 Seedorf – 80 Ronaldinho
This fixture will no doubt be full of fireworks and entertaining football. Milan will want to remain near the top elite, while the Biancocelesti will want to knock them down a few places.
