Lazio yet to decide Zarate’s fate

Corriere dello Sport is claiming that Lazio are considering selling Mauro Zarate after the player fell out with manager Edy Reja.
Reja left Zarate on the bench for the Rome derby last weekend, before substituting him in the midweek game with Cesena. Lazio lost both matches and Zarate reportedly had a blazing row with Reja about not playing. Lazio president Claudio Lotito remained tight-lipped about the future of the outspoken Argentinean.
Lotito said: “Will we sell Zarate? It’s only November and not a current problem. The transfer market window opens in January and we’ll talk about it then.”
Zarate’s brother and agent Sergio has claimed that the striker is happy to stay at the club. He said: “I spoke to Maurito yesterday and he was very depressed, but not because of the substitution, rather because Lazio lost at Cesena.
“We have a contract with Lazio and at this moment in time have not considered any other alternatives. I will soon speak to Lotito and try to understand what the situation is, even if I don’t think there will be problems.
“Maurito loves the Lazio fans and wants to stay in Rome. I think the whole Cesena controversy will disappear straight away, as from what I heard he should start Sunday’s match.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
