Leonardo hails Inter’s maturity and awareness

Inter Coach Leonardo praised his team after their 3-1 home win against Fiorentina on Sunday. The Brazilian pointed out that his team showed maturity whilst confirming Champions League football next year.
Speaking to the club website Leonardo said that: “This victory was necessary to keep us on track for our targets: to get a Champions League place for next season and to finish second. It was another game in which our maturity and the awareness of our own limits and ability came out; we are pleased.”
Inter had suffered bad results against both Milan and Schalke in recent weeks but this hard fought win against Fiorentina had proved to Leonardo that they could still come out of this season with silverware: “After that horrible week it wasn’t easy to come back and pull ourselves together again and start getting some positive results under our belts again, both in the league and in the Coppa Italia. This team really has done so much and has shown how good they are.”
Inter face Roma at the Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday and will go into the second leg with a one goal advantage. Milan will face Palermo in the other semi final on Tuesday.
