Leonardo set for Inter

Ex- Milan player and Coach Leonardo is set to take over at Inter following the departure of Rafael Benitez. The Brazilian left Milan at the end of last year after falling out with President Silvio Berlusconi.
Massimo Moratti is expected to announce today that Rafael Benitez will be relieved from his post as Inter Coach. Tuttosport reported that Moratti’s replacement is believed to be Leonardo, who is expected to be installed only hours after the official sacking of Benitez.
The former Milan Coach will be a strange choice to some due to his strong links to Inter’s fierce rivals. Moratti has turned to the Brazilian after his first choice Luciano Spalletti put himself out of the running, however, now it seems that Leonardo will sign a two year deal which is contrary to claims he would only be a short term replacement.
Leonardo made 103 appearances for the Rossoneri before serving them as a scout, technical director, and the Head Coach. His period in management had mixed reviews as despite playing attractive attacking football the Brazilian struggled at the start of his reign. There were highlights however, none more notable than the victory against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
With La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Corrie dello Sport and Tuttosport all claiming this morning that Leonardo will be in charge no later than tomorrow it seems as though this is already a done deal
