Leonardo stresses Inter focus

Leonardo believes his Inter team have the capabilities to maintain their push for both the Scudetto and Champions league this season.
The Nerazzurri face Cagliari at the San Siro tomorrow evening knowing a win, following the mid-week victory over Fiorentina, will exert more pressure on league leaders Milan.
Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Leonardo said, “The team is focused on all fronts. Working out the best way to handle so many games is never easy, but we’ll manage. This team has showed it can put together consistent performances so I’m not worried,”
Inter then entertain Bayern Munich on Wednesday, with concerns over the fitness of key duo Wesley Sneijder and Lucio. The Dutchman was withdrawn during the second half in Florence, limping off with a minor leg muscle injury, while central defender Lucio has been sidelined with a thigh strain.
“If they were 100% fit, they would be involved in tomorrow’s game. Lucio must respect the time of his injury. He also knows that he is better to wait a few days.”
Third placed Inter do welcome back influential midfielder Thiago Motta. The Brazilian-born former Barcelona star, who made his Azzurri debut in the 1-1 draw with Germany, is in contention to face Cagliari.
Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has recently dismissed Inter’s title aspirations, yet Leonardo would not be drawn into a war of words.
“I’m not worried and it’s not important. I think about what we’re capable of and I’m very happy when I look at the table. That is the result of what is done on the pitch and I’m happy with what we are doing on the pitch.”
A victory tomorrow will see the Nerazzurri go within two points of their city rivals albeit with Milan still to play on Sunday.
