Macheda agent denies Juventus contact

Federico Macheda’s agent has categorically denied that the striker could quit Manchester United and move to Juventus in January.
Juve were previously linked with another United striker, Dimitar Berbatov, and reports said the two clubs were negotiating a swap deal involving Gianluigi Buffon. Although that rumour has now been quashed, it seems Juve want to bring Macheda back to Italy.
But the 19-year-old’s agent Giovanni Bia told calciomercato.it:“I don’t know anything about it. I don’t know if the two clubs have talked about it but no-one has called me, neither Manchester United nor Juventus”.
“For now, I’d rule out a move to Turin, but I don’t think he’s ready to come back at all. Macheda is doing well in England and has no nostalgia for Italy. He is highly regarded at United and feels the confidence of [United boss Sir Alex] Ferguson, and he knows that he can only grow at such a prestigious club”.
Aged just 16, Rome-born Macheda left Lazio to join United without ever having played a Serie A match. Earlier this month he opened his goalscoring account for the Italy Under-21s with a brace against Turkey.
