Macheda could remain in Italy next season

Federico Macheda could stay at Sampdoria next season according to the player’s agent.
The Italy Under-21 international is currently on-loan from Manchester United until the end of the season, but could extend his stay in Genoa for a further year.
Macheda’s agent, Giovanni Bia, said: “In June we will assess everything and we’ll see. Kiko could stay another year because Sampdoria is the right club.”
The 19-year-old former Lazio striker has yet to find the net on his return to Italy and reports earlier this week suggested Sir Alex Ferguson had sent reserve team coach Warren Joyce and fitness assistant coach Marcello Iaia to assess Macheda’s progress.
Sampdoria coach Domenico Di Carlo believes he can get more from the young Italian, provided the right levels of application are applied, yet he still retains faith in Macheda to make a significant contribution in the club’s remaining league fixtures.
