Macheda out to emulate Cassano

Federico Macheda has vowed to try and help Sampdoria supporters get over losing Antonio Cassano during his loan spell with the club.
The 19-year-old Manchester United striker has recently penned a deal which will see him tied to Samp until the end of the season as Sir Alex Ferguson seeks more first team action for his young starlet.
The Italy under 21 international has effectively replaced Cassano, who joined Serie A rivals AC Milan this month after a dispute with Riccardo Garrone – the club’s owner.
And during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the centre forward insists he will give everything to prove a competent replacement for his fellow countryman.
“Cassano is a champion, an outstanding player. I have to prove everything. It’s the first time that I’ll be measuring myself in Serie A. Here you play a very tactical kind of football, but I have no fear.
“However, Cassano and I are players with very different characteristics. I will try and make you not regret him, this I promise. I know that there is a lot of expectation around me, but the responsibility doesn’t frighten me.
“If you don’t play, you don’t grow and I want to do that in a hurry. I’ll work to the maximum.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
