Macheda seals Sampdoria switch

Federico Macheda has officially joined Sampdoria on loan for the rest of the season from Manchester United. The 19-year old will arrive in Italy soon and is due to join his Blucerchiati team-mates.
The Italy Under-21 international hasn’t had much playing time at United this season, prompting Sir Alex Ferguson to allow him a temporary move back to his homeland.
After a scramble for his signature, Sampdoria have managed to land Macheda until the summer. Sampdoria recently lost Antonio Cassano to Milan after his falling out with club president Riccardo Garrone.
This left a vacant spot in attack which Macheda will now hope to occupy. Garrone is optimistic the 19-year-old can fill Cassano’s boots: “I am very happy that Macheda has chosen Sampdoria and I think it’s the same for the fans.
“Macheda has easily filled the void left by Cassano, he will definitely do well. In these five months we will try to treat him well. With him here, the enthusiasm has increased tenfold.”

The former Lazio trainee is expected to return to United when his loan expired, however, as Ferguson still regards Macheda as a potential first-team player. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
