Inter battled to a 2-0 victory over a disappointing Fiorentina on Saturday, a result that Maicon hopes will spur them on until the Christmas break.
Goals from Giampaolo Pazzini and Yuto Nagatomo sealed the much needed result, while the goal was Pazzini’s first since September, as he and the other strikers have struggled to find the target.
The Brazilian told Sky the Nerazzurri still have a strong squad despite their troubles: “We have a strong squad, it is just that at the moment the difficulty is translating that to the pitch. The crisis of our strikers not scoring was unexplainable as all of our players have quality.”
Having qualified from their Champions League group first and defeated Fiorentina, Inter now faces Genoa in their catch-up game in midweek.
“Have we turned the corner? I hope that we have. Let’s see how we do and how many points we get until the Christmas break.”
