Man City rule out Buffon bid

Roberto Mancini has categorically denied that he will ever try and sign Gianluigi Buffon for Manchester City because he believes in his current goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Juventus keeper Buffon has always been one of the big names linked with a switch to Eastlands, despite the fact that he hasn’t played since the World Cup last summer.
But now Mancini has finally ended rumours by stating that his faith in Hart means Buffon would not be necessary. The former Inter boss said: “But we have decided for some time to point on Hart, who is a young player with enormous potential.
“We believe so much in him to the point of having sacrificed a great No.1 like Given. Hence, I can categorically say that we will never make any offers for Buffon.”

The 32-year-old Juve player has been linked with a move away from Turin due to the excellent form of his understudy Marco Storari in his absence this season.
Bianconeri boss Luigi Del Neri has even called Buffon’s commitment to the club into question during his lay-off, but it seems the keeper will remain with Juventus when he recovers from his back problem.
