Manchester City chase Ronaldinho

The latest club to have thrown their hat into the ring to claim the services of AC Milan’s Ronaldinho is Manchester City, according to Tuttomercato.it.
English Premier League giants City, who will be top on Christmas Day should they defeat Everton this evening, are ready to swoop for the unhappy Brazilian by offering a lucrative deal to end Ronaldinho’s spell at the San Siro.
The 30-year-old has been a mere bit part player under the Massimiliano Allegri regime and with the potential addition of Antonio Cassano, the former Barcelona star’s chances would have been even further limited.
The likes of Gremio and Palmeiras have been linked with moves which would see Ronaldinho return to his homeland, but the Eastlands based club will trump both Brazilian outfits with the transfer offer and wages.
City would have no problem matching Ronaldinho’s wage demands, something which has been the source of discontent between player and employee over the previous few months and major reason why the two have failed to agree a new contract.
Ronaldinho’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, although all hope may not be lost for the attacking midfielder with Milan.
Last week club owner Silvio Berlusconi described Ronaldinho as a “better player” than Cassano, indicating that there may still be a chance of a stay with the Rossoneri.
