Mancini: “Tevez will stay at City”

Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini has stated star striker Carlos Tevez will not leave the team this summer. When asked if Tevez has told him he wants to stay, Mancini responded: “Yes. He told me before the cup final.”
The news comes as a blow to the likes of Inter, a top contender for the Argentine’s services next season. Corriere dello Sport reports Mancini full thoughts on the matter:
“Carlos is Carlos, a fantastic striker, an important player who I think will stay with us again next season. We talked about many times, both before and after the FA Cup final.”
Tevez scored a brilliant brace in City’s 3-0 win against Stoke City, making him the top scorer in the English Premier League with 21 goals.
The result also means the Citizens have leapfrogged Arsenal and taken command of third place. With a win against Bolton next week, City will gain automatic Champions League qualification. This, Mancini asserts, is a big reason why club captain Tevez will be urged to stay:
“When we play in the Champions League we have a team even better because we can buy the best players. And he’ll [Tevez] be even better. We had some problems in December (when Tevez asked to be transferred), but it all worked out.”
Mancini’s men wrap up the season on Sunday against Bolton. Interestingly enough, this is the second season in a row in which an Italian coach has lifted silverware in England: Carlo Ancelotti with Chelsea last year and Mancini with Manchester City this year. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
