Marchetti set for Genoa

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has confirmed that he is ready to complete the sale of Federico Marchetti to Genoa, ending his exile from the Sardinian club.
Marchetti hasn’t played all season after demanding a transfer from Cagliari last summer, only to see his club block his attempts to leave. Cagliari, as a result, expelled Marchetti to the sidelines but are now ready to cash in on the want-away goalkeeper.
Cellino said: “I have just spoken with [Genoa president] Enrico Preziosi and I gave him our availability for the agreement established with the player. Therefore if the player is happy, and I think he is, he will join Genoa.”
The fee that Cagliari will receive is currently undisclosed, but it has been reported that they will be given total ownership of Robert Acquafresca.
The striker is currently playing for Cagliari, who co-own him with Genoa, although the Grifone are willing to give up their share of the player in part-exchange for Marchetti.
Genoa’s current goalkeeper Eduardo, only joined last summer but a series of high-profile errors have all but ended his career at the club. Assuming Marchetti’s transfer is completed in the next few days, Eduardo is expected to move on. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
