Maresca shuns Italy for Malaga move

Italian midfielder Enzo Maresca has opted against moving back to his homeland and has instead signed for Spanish side Malaga.
Maresca has been a free agent since leaving Greek side Olympiakos in the summer, and has been maintaining fitness by training with several teams in Serie A and B.
However, the 30-year-old has decided to move abroad once again rather than join an Italian team. With his status as a free agent he will available immediately for his new team.
Malaga are struggling at the bottom of La Liga so the signing of the journeyman midfielder is much-needed. They are the latest of Maresca’s clubs in a list that includes West Bromwich Albion, Juventus, Bologna, Piacenza, Fiorentina and Sevilla.
