Marotta: “Juventus not interested in Cassano”

Juventus Sporting Director Beppe Marotta has once again shot down rumours that the Bianconeri could try to lure Antonio Cassano to Turin after his contract proceedings are concluded.
Marotta and Coach Gigi Del Neri had worked with Cassano last year at Sampdoria and the club’s desire to sign a forward has seen Cassano linked repeatedly with the Bianconeri.
But Marrotta has tried to silence such rumours once and for all claiming that he still maintained good relations with Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone and felt sorry for the recent events.
“I feel bad for Cassano. It doesn’t matter who is right or wrong. I understand Garrone’s stance and I’m sorry for the player who made a mistake. But our plans are different, (Cassano) won’t be a part of us.”
With the Old Lady virtually ruling herself out of the race to sign FanAntonio it remains to be seen where the temperamental forward’s future lies. Marotta also addressed Juventus’ transfer market plans and outlined the Bianconeri’s objectives for the winter.
“We will not make any substantial investments from the economic point of view. We should be able to exploit the window of opportunity that the market offers. We are not bound to reinforce some section or the other. We are quite pleased with what we are doing.”
Recent transfer rumours have suggested that Momo Sissoko and Hasan Salihamidzic could leave the Turin giants. Similarly, a swap deal between Alberto Gilardino of Fiorentina and Amauri has also made the rounds.
“Sissoko? Players should have the right motivation and feel part of the group. If he is happy here, there is no need to move. It’s up to him to feel satisfied. We have a good relationship. He has never expressed a desire to move.”
“As for the Gila-Amauri exhange, this news is totally unfounded. We have never had a discussio with Firorentina or talked with the player. Amauri is rehabilitating from a knee injury and we hope to have him back for the final part of the season.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
