Marotta: Juventus will not sell Buffon

Beppe Marotta, Juventus’s sporting director, has quashed rumours that Gianluigi Buffon will be leaving the Bianconeri in the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, the former Sampdoria man said: “We are not a club that needs to make money. Juventus have never wanted to sell Buffon; we do not sell our best players.”
The 33-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with a host of top sides recently, including nouveau riche Roma and the side with perennial ‘keeper worries, Arsenal.
Marotta also had his say on possible summer transfer targets for La Vecchia Signori: “This summer will be a process of growth; not a revolution. Montolivio is a player we admire like so many others. Neymar and Tevez? They are two great players that we would love to have here in Turin, but we have to consider the economic aspects.”
The sporting director also confirmed that Alessandro Del Piero will stay at Juventus for at least one more year: “Alex has spoken directly with Agnelli. An agreement has been reached; the contract only needs to be signed now.”
Juventus have been underwhelming this season, currently sitting in 7th position, with Europa League qualification the best they can hope for with six games left to play.
