Maxi Lopez denies wanting to leave Catania

Maxi Lopez has refuted claims he wants to leave Catania, telling Corriere dello Sport he is focusing only on helping the club avoid relegation.
Catania sits in 14th position on the table, five points clear of the drop zone. With the Rossoblu not yet mathematically safe, the Argentine is not interested with talk regarding his future, telling the newspaper: “And who was it that said I am going? Discussion of my future does not concern the writers, but the club.
“There is an objective to reach and since the maths do not comfort us, to talk about the market is out of place.”

A representative for Argentina at youth level, Lopez was wanted by Juventus in January, however the club rejected all advances from the Bianconeri. The 27-year-old joined the Elefanti in January last year, so far scoring 20 goals in 47 appearances for the Sicilian club. His latest came at the weekend to give his side a share of the points at Bari.
