Mazzarri praises opposition and is content with a draw

Given Napoli’s dramatic rise to the pinnacle of Italian football it is a rare occurrence that there is a feeling of satisfaction following being held to a point at home. However Coach Walter Mazzarri was pleased following last night’s stalemate in the Stadio San Paolo.
Speaking to UEFA.com he praised the visitors FC Bayern Munich for their quality and used it as an indicator of the level of performance his side required. “We were facing and insanely strong team so we are happy with the draw. We played well and I think the result was fair. They are in really top form now but that is not a surprise because they have scored 25 goals and conceded just one in their last ten games.”
The result leaves qualification Group A wide open coupled with Manchester City’s late winner to keep the pressure on Bayern and Napoli at the top of the table. Reflecting on the group after encountering all three sides the former Sampdoria coach suggested: “The group is very balanced, it really is a great group.”
