Mazzarri prepares Napoli for test of title credentials

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has called for an aggressive approach from his players ahead of their Saturday evening showdown with Roma.
The former Sampdoria coach believes his team must show their maturity in Rome, which has led them to within three points of leaders Milan at the Serie A summit.
Mazzarri said: “I’m curious to see how we approach the game, we must not think about who we are playing.
“We need to be aggressive, limit their gameplan and then develop our own.”

Napoli have so far struggled against their title rivals this season, losing to Milan, Inter and Lazio, but Mazzarri insists victory over Saturday’s opponents earlier in the season should give his side much needed confidence.
“Napoli haven’t won in Rome in 17 years, they’re unbeaten on their own pitch, but given that we already won at home, we need another perfect game to display our faith in our own abilities,” he added.
Mazzarri has further warned against setting any end-of-season targets, and admits his side must not believe the hype if they are to fulfil their potential.
“We should qualify for the Champions league or even attain that other ambition that we don’t dare mention, but we’ll think about it as and when it happens.
“Every time that we looked at the table, subconsciously we felt its weight, so we must only look at it at the end of the season. Nothing must distract us.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
