Mazzarri reaches contract agreement with Napoli

Walter Mazzarri has committed his future to Napoli by signing a new five-year deal, the club has confirmed.
Despite a fantastic season, which ended with lucrative Champions League qualification, relations between the Coach and President Aurelio De Laurentiis had become fractious, prompting showdown talks on Monday night.
“President De Laurentiis and coach Mazzarri cleared the air to reinforce their personal relationship,” read a club statement.
“After two years of collaboration which has taken Napoli into the Champions League before it was expected, the president and coach Mazzarri have agreed a new collaboration to continue the club’s development for a further five years.”
The former Sampdoria Coach had previously refused to commit his future to the club, arousing suspicions that the 49-year-old was seeking improved terms on his contract, with De Laurentiis himself alleging that Mazzarri’s silence was for personal gain.
During three seasons at Reggina, Mazzarri guided his team to safety against the odds, before moving to Sampdoria and achieving UEFA Cup qualification in 2008. Napoli’s third-place finish in Serie A means it has been their most successful league campaign in 21 years. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
